IS THE BIBLE TRUE?
STATEMENT OF BELIEFS
The Bible is the communication of God, without mistakes in its original manuscripts, and God-breathed from His mind and heart to the consciousness and presentation of its 40 human writers over several thousand years. It has been miraculously preserved through the millenia in words and message. Though it is not a textbook on these matters, it is attested to by history, archaeology, logic, science, eye-witness accounts, fulfilled prophecy and changed lives. Most importantly, it is affirmed in the virgin birth, sinless life, sacrificial death, life-giving resurrection, mediatorial ascension and soon victorious physical return of Jesus Christ.
The Bible contains at least 25% prophetic material. This large portion concerns future events from the perspective of each writer at time it was written. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled about Jesus’ first coming 2,000 years ago. This shows that the Bible can be trusted and that it comes from a Source, (God), who is outside of time (which He created). There are a very large number of prophecies to be fulfilled when Jesus Christ comes back in the future. Because of the Bible’s track record, it is logical that it can be trusted, and to believe that these will come true as well.
